This is an exciting opportunity to join the IT team in a fast growing engineering, manufacturing and services company based in the North West.The company design and manufacture a range of commercial transport products supplying major fleet operators and commercial vehicle manufacturers, as well as offering fleet maintenance services.
As the company is developing, the bespoke application programming requirements are increasing and the company is now looking for a full time Android developer to join the IT team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES– ANDROID DEVELOPER
Reporting to the IT Director, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, continued development and support of various mobile applications based on the Android platform. These will be both internal applications to support various parts of the business, as well as applications for our customers and suppliers.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE - ANDROID DEVELOPER
Demonstrable track record of Android mobile application programming, with knowledge in the following areas
• Android SDK
• Java
• UI design on mobile phones and tablets.
• Relational databases and data exchange methodology for communication with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Android devices, choosing the best for any given task
Additional experience in the following areas is helpful but not essential
•) Development for other mobile devices, e.g. iPhone and Windows Mobile
•) General web development using .NET with C#, JQuery, HTML, CSS etc
